Yeah Rog, but from here on out…no more Mr. Nice-Guy, do you got it? I don’t care if it’s Wawa’s 100 year old grandmother on the other side of the court…I want you to destroy, destroy, destroy! *shows sad attempt at angelic smile* Please?
I guess it’s quite a good thing I’m not Edberg…I’d have quite different coaching methods.

Despite what happened today…I wish everyone a Happy Easter!

Don’t let it get you down. We need to keep things in perceptive and keep in mind even in Roger’s fabulous 2009 season, he wasn’t even able to win a tournament until Madrid, things had been looking pretty glum up until that point especially tagging along the many disappointments of 2008. At least so far this season he already has a title under his belt and has been playing more consistent then he even did in 2009, bringing more promise to this year for good results.

I have no doubts as to Roger’s improvements fitness-wise and being back 100% physically; my only concern now is Roger’s mental edge which has been weakened by a sheer lack of confidence from a bad last year ridden with physical problems. I feel at times (involuntarily) Roger feeds too much into the saturated negativity spewed by much of the press and negative comments by spectators, as he needs to keep in mind (which I’m sure he does, but he really needs to ram the thought in until it marinates) that he not only was Wimbledon Champion in 2012 (only the year before last year, people…) but he also had brilliant results during the Olympics, scoring the silver medal, won Madrid where most of the top 10 playing crumbled (Oooo blue clay), reaped a harvest in between by winning IW, Rotterdam, Dubai, Cincinnati and still managed to make the finals of WTF that year.

Did I mention this was just the year before last year? I want Roger to keep this in mind at ALL times, yes this is him and no other player in this age has managed to not only gain but maintain a year of dominating tennis time after time, tournament after tournament, year after year like he has. I need him to keep that at heart and use it to create a confident mallet to crush and demolish his adversaries with (sorry if the wording appears a bit violent there, not meaning this literally… but actually yes).

The year’s already been better than last year by far, but I want him to come on court consistently wrapped in a mental cloak of his performances, record wins, countless achievements and accolades. He knows his body’s up to par now; he just needs to get that mental chip off his shoulder and do it. It will come steadily but I surely wish for him not to be satisfied with a finals appearance here, build up his confidence as though he’s on a winning streak but train for the next tournament like he have something to prove.

Because as someone once said, confidence is a tricky thing that can ‘take forever to build up, but can be broken down quickly’. If physical health is right and you have the skills, all you need is to get confidence there up to speed and the rest will come along easily. Just do it, Rog!

Okay y’all…colossal apologizes for the super unbelievably, undeniably, inexcusably slow update today…Roger Federer is into the finals of Monte Carlo after master-classing Serbia’s No. 1, N. Djokovic, 7-5, 6-2! I’m incredibly happy but not at all surprised by this result… Roger’s form has been phenomenal this year and hope it continues! Keep it up, Rog…we’re behind you all the way! ^_^-Photos via rogerfederer.com

By the grace of God, we’re into the semis here in Monte Carlo…what a weird 2-6,7-6, 6-1 match! He defeated France’s, J. Tsonga. A few panic attacks for fans, to say in the least. Happy Roger’s through!
Update: Despite the disastrous first set give-away, he didn’t cave in after that and the nail-biting 2nd set he didn’t waver but found resolve after digging his heels in despite things not going his way and found a way to overcome the odds… (because Roger’s always had off days in his career, it’s how he found a way around those off days that made him what he is today). This is the Roger we like to see, and something that was terribly lacking last year. Great to see him playing to his normal standards again and can’t stress how happy I am for him for the rest of the season!
