Sorry for the late post…Very touching moment between Roger and his surprising opponent before Roger reached quarter finals. Young Belgium player is a fan of Roger’s. The young man gave it a great effort and lost, but achieved one of his dreams by playing Roger. Roger embraced him at the end and was very chatty and friendly towards him. Just natural. Reminded me of my own adoration of him & once again of why I’m a Fed fan, and shall always be.

Roger is clear to his 2nd round at RG after a straight sets win. The victory marks his 233rd Grand Slam match win, equalling him with Jimmy Connors for the most of all time by men in the open era.
